Dapper Jacket Trends for Men

Indian men are always experimenting with fashion and recently there has been much interest in the famous velour jacket spotted on Karan Johar during his popular chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’. The stylish director is spotted in a new colour of these velour jackets in most episodes of his chat show. This trend has caught on with many famous personalities that are wearing these jackets in royal colours like teal, burgundy and claret.

Actor, Ranveer Singh who is definitely the talk of the town for his bold style statements has been seen wearing a brocade and jacquard jacket that also became extremely stylish. The fabric for these jackets has a slight shimmer instead of a gloss and when made with good quality fabrics, these jackets are sure to please.

Ace designer, Sabyasachi recently launched a collection of floral printed suits that is forecasted to trend in 2015. These suits suit young and lean men that sport bush-beards like Sabyasachi’s typical men models. The tuxedo was another favourite trend of 2014. One can never go wrong with the classic tuxedo and it truly is the ultimate form of gentlemen’s dressing.

Imran Khan who is usually impeccably dressed often shows up in luxurious tuxedos at events and the dapper white jacket tuxedo with fitted black pants is another favourite.

With the festive season and New Year, not only will the ladies will look glamorous in their shining gowns but also well-dressed men are sure to steal the show!

Highlights at the Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week 2014

Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra: West meets the East!

In the History of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014, the only designers that showcased Indian menswear in the course of the entire day were none other than Shantanu & Nikhil Mehra. The Designer duo presented a collection called “The Shadows Within”; it’s about an imaginative character called Vanessa, a British woman who lived in India during the 1930-40’s era.
Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra’s collection created a romantic mood by using shade like oxblood, blush pink, Chocó brown, sand yellow and white ivory. Layered Gowns paired with Victorian evening gloves, Signature sarees and Venetian knee length cocktail dress styles added the perfect Vintage touch to their collection. Shantanu and Nikhil tried to bring femininity in their menswear collection so there were a lot of elegantly draped kurti’s showcased this season. Another eye catching accessory in the men’s-wear collection was the gilded pocket square with the bandhgala jackets. The quirky footwear with intricate work was very well noticed. The fabrics used for the collection were a combination of silk & cotton, which perfectly matches the Autumn Winter Season.
Shantanu and Nikhil successfully managed to put together the ethnic silhouettes with western-wear sensibilities in their new collection at the Wills lifestyle India Fashion Week, 2014.

Nikasha only used chitz fabric in a totally vintage style for her collection. The colour scheme for the new collection was shades like cherry red, blush peach, champagne and burgundy wine; Red ombre was evidently used. Slip blouses, sheer ruched tunics, muslin, chanderi sarees and kaftans with fine-crafted hand embroidery and striking embellishments, MAGNIFICIENT! What a delight to watch. The purses styled with the clothes were super adorable and attractive.
